Job Description
Perform complete layout inspection by measuring dimensions, such as length, height and distance, between reference points.
Capable of reading technical drawing, welding symbols, knowledge on dimensional acceptance (ASTM A6/A6M, ISO) standard specifications.
Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications and ITP.
Check & verify dimensional fit up inspection of Tanks & Steel Structure as per drawing/ITP and to provide guidance for welding sequence and distortion control.
Verify alignment, level, and elevation of structures to ensure building compliance.
Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess/detect manufacturingvariations in processes.
Discuss results and findings with those in charge of the products, and recommend corrective actions, if required.
Assist and/or trains operators on part visual acceptability, and measure fabrication process & procedures as required.
Perform verification on Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing products.
Report quality issues/problems/findings to QA/QC Manager and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
Identify non-conformances & generates Corrective Action Requests CAR's)/Nonconformity Report accordingly and convey to his Manager and (or)production head. Follow CAR's & NC's until closure.
Quality assurance with reference to contract requirements and codes for steel fabrication such as AWS & ASME.
Conduct field inspections to inspect standards of building structures and materials.
Maintain record of inspections and prepares list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate the acceptance of parts.
Maintain daily logs, including photographs taken during inspection.
Teach production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
To undertake any other duties as reasonably required by QC Manager.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical) or similar fields.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Possess strong skills in codes such as ASME Sec II, Sec V, Sec VIII and Sec IX, ASTM, and API 650/653
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Excellent Knowledge of MS Office, Good Math and Technical Skills.
Strong understanding of Quality Control Standards and Testing Techniques.
