Role Context
As the first Product Development team member in our Manila office you will have the responsibility to help us build and lead a world class Quality Engineering function. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer and Team Leader, you will play a significant role in directing the future quality of our products and services. You will work closely with Engineering and Product Delivery teams to ensure successful project completion in an Agile environment.
Your duties will include building and managing the team, aligning with the wider engineering team, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring that your team has necessary infrastructure to succeed. You will represent the team in planning and status meetings, providing guidance on the technical aspects, and have hands-on experience with POC development and project tasks. You will be a local leader, balancing long-term roadmaps and short-term priorities.
We collaborate in-person every week in our office in Makati and have some flexibility to work from home. We also work remotely alongside engineering colleagues in the UK, Belgium and Australia.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of Quality Engineers with direct reports
Interface with our local office teams to ensure the Quality team are appropriately supported with infrastructure and facilities
Work with teams across the organisation to define and implement product specific test strategies
Liaise with development teams to create detailed and well-structured test plans derived from product requirements, define entry & exit criteria, ensure coverage of the requirements
Lead the team to estimate, prioritize, plan and execute test plans
Manage local procurement (equipment, office specific needs)
Oversee day to operations/activities, scheduling & capacity management across releases
Co-ordinate with teams throughout the organisation on dependencies, and act as point of contact ensuring swift communications across both teams and geographic locations
Represent the team throughout the organisation, making decisions as required to support and enable each of your team members
IDEAL CANDIDATE
8+ years industry experience.
BSc, BE, or ME in related scientific or engineering discipline.
High degree of EQ and experience managing a team of Quality Engineers
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience working closely with development and product teams to understand business requirements and translate those into reliable test plans
Project management skills to ensure tasks are running as per schedule and teams are unblocked as needed
Develop test automation in Python (or similar) using Selenium/other UI-test-framework in IDE (VSCode/Pycharm or similar)
JavaScript/client-side testing experience, preferably in React or similar frameworks
Test Enablement tools (e.g. BrowserStack, ReadyAPI), test frameworks (e.g. Gherkin/BDD)
Create and manage Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environments using cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure) and containerized virtualization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience in testing RESTful APIs and applicable tooling (e.g. Postman, JMeter)
