What to expect from the role:
Defines develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures and other QA assessments
Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process and quality tools & techniques
Develop training to build quality awareness
Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, process consistency, and quality metrics for all departmental operations
Provide authoritative guidance about Six Sigma principles as well as guidance on Design Control elements to New Product Development team members and Manufacturing Staff
Reviews ECN's to ensure compliance to Quality System
Responsible for Quality System Maintenance
Lead the root cause analysis on purchased parts or finished good products
Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions
Develop positive relationships and work closely with Leaders to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers
Support the company for certification effort for ISO/ TS 16949 and subsequent maintenance of the certification
Understand, support, and contribute to the current company's Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO), and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related
A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience in automotive is a plus
At least 5 years experience in manufacturing and quality and at least 3 years working as Quality Engineer
Demonstrated successful application of analytical quality tools including Six Sigma, Lean, SPC
Lean or Six Sigma certification
Experience with six sigma, 8D ́s APQP, FMEA's
Error-proofing and other, similar techniques preferred
Excellent communication skills in English
Familiarity with Laboratory Equipment such as XRF, SEM, GC is an advantage
