JOB SUMMARY:
The QA Assistant Manage is responsible in effective implementation of the company's food quality and safety policies to ensure the manufacture of quality and safe goods. He/ she shall work closely with the QA Department Head and with the other supervisors who are involved in Plant Operations. He/ she shall give instructions to his/ her staff based on QA Department's objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Improve existing or develop/ establish new quality or safety policies, procedures and standards.
Do regular internal audits on all food manufacturing/warehousing sites of LTHFood Industries Inc.
Ensure all quality and food safety policies set by the company will be followed and complied with at all times.
Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with local and international regulations.
Working collaboratively with Production and R&D Managers to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise.
Review, tabulate and analyze customer complaints received, working in collaboration with related Departments such as Engineering and Maintenance / Production to resolve such issues.
Prepare and send reports to Top Management / Owners regarding food quality issues or recommendations to avoid such issues.
Must be Knowledgeable regarding the basic food safety standards such as cGMP, HACCP, ISO, FSSC, etc.
Implements and monitors the Quality Assurance System, standards and specifications that the Company has set.
Responsible for studying and implementing local and international food safety standards to comply with the domestic and export markets of the company.
Check the labeling and packaging of all products to ensure compliance with the Food Regulatory Office.
For future external audits, must prepare and make easily available the necessary documents which are requested, educate and train staff on how to prepare for the audit, oversee preparations on the site visits, among others, to ensure a positive outcome.
Supervising laboratory and technical staff under their department
Analyzing and forming recommendations and observations based on the data gathered during quality assurance monitoring checks.
Makes regular audits to raw and packaging materials supplier's factories and sites, to ensure their compliance with food safety regulations.
Determining the training needs of staff under their department.
Coaching of supervisors and staff to constantly improve the department.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years of experience as Senior Analyst or Officer 1 in a Food and Beverage Manufacturing, Meat Processing, or Feeds Manufacturing setup;
Having a Team Leader or Supervisory experience is an advantage
BS Chemistry, BS Chem. Eng, BS Food Tech, BS Bio major in Micro or any Food Science-allied courses
Preferably Licensed Chemist, Licensed Chem. Tech, or PAM-accredited Microbiologist
Knowledgeable on cGMP, GWP, HACCP; having an FSSC, BRC, or any GFSI-recognized certification system background is a plus
Knowledgeable on physico-chemical tests (pH, % fat, protein, brix, % titratable acidity, viscosity)
Has in-depth understanding on food and feed microbiology and capable of performing microbiological tests; Dairy microbiology experience is an advantage
With basic to intermediate understanding on Integrated Pest Management
With basic to intermediate knowledge on ISO documentation
Has the ability to write technical reports
Additional:
Technical proficiency must be able to use computers and laptops to write, generate and record reports.
Intermediate to advance knowledge on Food Microbiology and Plant Sanitation
Ability to analyze data, create root cause analysis, review and create processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to lead, organize and plan interdepartmental activities as well as those within their own department
