Description
The role of the Python/Django Developer is to develop web and mobile applications, improve existing infrastructure and to manage timely completion of deliverables with our Project Manager, System Administrator, Strategists and Design Team.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain web applications and/or API services using Django
4+ years job experience
Strong skills in building modular software with object-oriented design patterns
Ability to lead a small team of developers
Participate in rapid prototyping and application coding and debugging
Strong knowledge of solutions to common web exploits.
Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL, PostgreSQL and their language constructs.
Good understanding of Memcache, Redis and other caching systems.
Well-versed with code versioning tools
Determine appropriate architecture for new projects
Ability to coordinate with an extended design team. Will be required to ensure that the design and implementation work well in the context of the entire system and product strategy
Perform unit, functional and cross-browser testing
Mentor junior web developers
An understanding of what it means to wear different hats in a small, dynamic team environment, and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
Practical experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development environment, with an understanding of what works and what doesn't in a professional-services setting
