 Records all the deliveries account paid.
 Make sure that the payments are settled before the due date.
 Obtain oral and written price quotes from suppliers.
 Compares quotes with the specifications and availability of items.
 Organizes, updates, and maintains product information files and purchase order records.
 Obtain appropriate commodities in a timely manner.
 Prepares purchase orders to be approved in accordance with the existing matrix.
 Place orders and follows up deliveries.
 Interviews suppliers and evaluates their products and capabilities.
 Negotiates (within the limits of delegated authority) with suppliers for a price reduction, payments terms extension, shorten delivery lead-time).
 Request and liquidates cash advances for items purchased on a cash on delivery terms.
 Inspects, receives and ensures all purchased materials, supplies, equipment, and services conform to the specifications required by the requestor.
 Develops and maintains a steady pool of reliable suppliers.
 Visit suppliers' plants, factories if necessary.
