We are in need of an experienced Property Accountant with a strong background in managing financial operations for short-term rental properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance across multiple platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, and other vacation rental channels.Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounting operations for multiple short-term rental properties.
Reconcile bank accounts, merchant accounts, and booking platform payouts.
Track income, occupancy taxes, fees, and commissions from various rental platforms.
Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow reports.
Coordinate with property managers or hosts regarding budget adherence and expense tracking.
Manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
Maintain accurate records for audits and tax filings, including transient occupancy tax (TOT) or similar.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to seasonal rental cycles.
Use accounting and property management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Guesty, Hostaway, etc.).
RequirementsQualifications:
Accounting experience, with at least 1 year in short-term rental or hospitality industry.
Proficient in accounting software and Excel; experience with short-term rental tools is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties/accounts.
