Summary:
Review and carries out strategies in various phases of works / field project operations for the attainment of company's major safety objectives; "Zero LTI, No Major Fire Incident, No Major Property Damage and Zero Recordable Case"
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee site safety condition in all work areas. Initiate hazard assessment and advised concerned personnel for possible corrective actions in due time.
Enforce strict implementation of approved safe working procedures on site. Join hand in hand with Site Supervisors in maintaining safe and clean work environment.
Conduct regular site inspection including all company mobile equipment, tools, machineries and other related equipment as per requirement on company safety rules and regulations.
Actively participate investigation of incidents or accidents happen on site and should report to immediate superior on desired length of time. Provide and suggest corrective actions and sees to it that it is well done to prevent re-occurrence or possible major accidents.
Coordinates with Project OHS Officer in compiling required documents and evident pictures for Project OHS Accomplishment Weekly report.
Assist Project OHS Officer in complying annual submission of OHS related documents to client and government institutions.
Act as OHS Officer-in-Charge in the course of absence of OHS Officer on project site and do his functions as stated and endorsed by the OHS Officer.
Performs other tasks as may be assigned to you by immediate superior from time to time.
OCCUPATIONAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY
Report to the Project OHS Officer and provide full assistance to the Project Management Team to ensure the company complies with the OHS policy.
Inform line supervision, employees and Subcontractors of existing and potential hazards to OHS.
Maintain a professional level of contact with Clients, Subcontractors and other relevant representatives on site.
Assist Project Management in the preparation of safety planning, Method Statements and Risk Assessments etc., to identify hazards and recommend appropriate action.
Assist in promoting OHS awareness and conduct training to members of the Project Management Team and Subcontractors as required.
Attend all applicable OHS meetings as requested by the Project OHS Officer and / or Project Manager.
Inspect and report on places of work and working practices to ensure that safe systems are being employed in compliance with the company and other relevant OHS requirements.
Ensure that adequate firefighting equipment is provided and maintained at work area and offices / facilities.
Ensure that suitable first aid facilities and trained persons are available at all places of work.
Investigate and submit the report for all incidents and dangerous occurrences.
Stop any activity on site if in their opinion there is a risk of injury to any project personnel, or the possibility of a dangerous occurrence happening.
Set-up and maintain the project medical facility for the duration of the project. Administer first aid to the injured on site and ensure that all patients receive the best possible medical treatment.
Conduct health education on prevailing topics to worker and staff.
Establish medical care plans for injured persons that follow up management.
Keep statistical records of all medical cases and submit a report to the Project OHS Officer / Inspector on weekly and monthly basis.
Participate fully in emergencies and schedule emergency drills.
