Position Summary:
Responsible for managing the transportation of equipment and building supplies that are used on the Newbuild, Dry-Dock, Revitalization and Projects. The position involves managing third party logistic providers (customs brokers, port agents, forwarders, and consolidators). The incumbent will work with various internal departments (Purchasing, Logistics, Newbuild, Marine & HFAB Operations, Fleet Modernization and etc.). Shipboard Operations, Port Agent departments and External Suppliers/Contractors to determine the disposition of the tools, equipment's and material supplies that are used on the Newbuild, Dry-Dock, Revitalization and Projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs third party port agents, forwarders, and consolidators as to the dispositions of contractor's tools, equipment's and materials that are being use on Newbuild, Dry-Docks, Revitalization and Projects.
Represents RCCL in meetings with US Customs to respond to audits, inquiries, or presentation of company policies and procedures.
Track and monitor the tools, equipment's and material that will be transfer to the next project to ensure timely disposition
Conducts training for the project teams, warehouse personnel, and port agent personnel.
Plan and coordinates the transportation of contractor's tools, equipment's, material supplies that are used on projects both domestically and internationally to the appropriate destination.
Handles urgent shipments of goods (airfreight) to Newbuild, Dry-Docks, Revitalization and Projects.
Provides training on how to dispositions Newbuild, Revitalization, Dry-Docks, and Projects tools, equipment's in the Land Good Advice system.
Provides training to internal and external customers on the current Landed Good Advice regulatory compliance
Collaborate with RCCL Compliance and Ethics department and Customs to ensure RCCL is aware of all the current compliance requirements for Landed Good Advice
Develop and update Landed Good Advice policies with the current compliance requirements
Requires domestic and international travel to vessel port locations for the audit and quality assurance of company procedures and policies.
Perform related duties as required with or without accommodation.
Attend daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed meetings on upcoming and current Newbuild, Dry-Docks, Revitalization and Projects meetings
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university is required.
At least 2 years' experience in transportation and logistics. Knowledge of US Customs import and export regulations.
Experience working with third party providers and use of the LGA system is preferred.
Must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly so as not to disrupt operations.
Certification in hazardous materials shipping a plus.
Must be proficient in PC software programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation.
Familiarity with JD Edwards and AMOS systems is preferred.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
