Primary Responsibility:
The Project Financial Analyst monitors the overall project costing, status, and profitability and submits ad hoc reports to the Controller for the latter presentation to Senior Management.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Creates a standard financial model template that can be edited to fit future projects bids that will be participated by the Company;
Updates the standard financial model to keep attuned with the latest development in the construction industry (i.e. quantity of materials, cost of materials);
Submits a project variance cost report (i.e. monthly versus budget cost analysis) for each project with meaningful analyses coming from the project manager, general accounting, and field personnel;
Understands the overall project management and execution and prepares reports to reflect current project status;
Conducts benchmarking analyses of between different projects (past or present) within the Company to determine potential work as well as validation for project bid amounts;
Identifies significant deviations encountered during project execution versus project plan and prepares quantitative and qualitative analysis for reporting of the Controller.
Detects business, industry, and economic trends and provides sound recommendations to mitigate potential risks and optimize the opportunity to improve project profitability;
Other tasks that may be assigned by the Controller from time to time.
Qualifications
At least an Accounting, Management or Civil Engineering Graduate with at least three (3) years' experience in project cost monitoring and/or construction industry operations.
Strong knowledge in the use of MS Excel in creating financial models and forecasts.
Has the ability to work with different levels of the organization.
Has high critical and analytical skills and can explain reasons behind the numbers.
Proactive and self-starter.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
