Roles and Responsibilities
Our client is a Victorian-based group of countries which includes a growing Commercial Construction company and is a growing low to medium ride residential and commercial construction firm.
As an Estimator, you will be working with our other estimators and work closely with the Business Development & Marketing Team, in order to secure further multi-million dollar projects including Education, Government, Institutional, Apartments & Refurbs.
Key parts of the role include:
• Provide accurate and complete tendering documents within the required timeframe to
support our effort in securing a steady pipeline of works
• Preparing bill of quantities, including detailed take-offs
• Gather and manage the tender documentation
• Read and interpret Architectural, Engineering & Services Drawings
• Preparing scope of works for trades, engaging trades and reviewing trade pricing
• Ensure quality trade coverage on all tenders
• Liaise with subcontractors responding to all applicable RFI's
• Identify Value Management opportunities
• Prepare bid/Tender documentation for submitting to client
• Handover to project team including early identification of procurement items including
long lead time items
Required Experience
• Competent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, etc
• Experienced estimator
Minimum Qualifications
• 3+ years of estimating experience on commercial and residential build projects with a successful track record at winning projects
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Building equivalent;
A Successful Candidate must have
• Attention to detail with strong recall on numbers
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have impeccable time management practices
• Ability to build relationships and negotiate well with subcontractors
Proficient with
• MS Office and MS Project
• Buildsoft Cubit
Experience Advantage
• Buildsoft/Cubit experience is beneficial
