PROJECT ENGINEERS (CIVIL / MECHANICAL / MEPF)
JOB PURPOSE
The Project Engineer supervises the Contractors & Trade contractors that they strictly comply with the requirements and follow the plans in accordance with the best trade practices, coordinating with the Project Manager on the progress of the project to safe on-time completion, at budget costs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract Supervision
Provides constant on-site verification of works, contractors' daily activities and his assigned site activities
Monitors contractors' accomplishments and works to solve problems that may arise during the construction process or after being done
Coordinates with the Project Manager in interfacing with the Purchasing Department and the Suppliers to verify materials delivery, tracking & receipt
Field Inspections & Instructions
Monitors construction activities to check compliance with the Project Deed, Design Documentation and Specifications
Regularly reviews the compliance records and test results, survey set out/compliance reports to ensure compliance with approved design and specification
Coordinates with the Consultants & Designers if there are gray areas and inconsistencies that need to be addressed at the project site relative to the contract drawings & specifications
Coordinates with the Project Manager in preparing site instructions to contractors necessary to effect the approved change orders, time extensions, shop drawings and other documents for proper implementation
Reporting
Certifies contractor/subcontractor billings
Attends weekly project meetings and any other meetings as required to contribute to review of quality issues, quality of work and any remedial measures required
Coordinates with the Contractor in the preparation of all project submittals and drawings
Assists in the review of the as-built drawings that they conform to what have been implemented
