JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for creating and implementing a construction plan ensuring timely and quality delivery, and necessary construction equipment and supplies are available. As a lead engineer, the position also supervises the performance of construction personnel and subcontractors as they execute the housing construction.
Analyze, review plans and specifications, attend pre-bid and construction meetings and act as a lead authority for supervision of construction activities, as well recommend solutions to mitigate potential or actual issues encountered
Check on the quality of works, construction methods and perform material testing on ongoing housing units, land development, and open space amenities to confirm product compliance with the design and specification
Acts as the lead engineer in the procurement of materials and supplies needed to efficiently run the project
Identifies and recommends opportunities to optimize cost from procurement to installation and warehousing
Review work accomplishments by construction personnel and make recommendations for approval on weekly billing
Act as the focal point for coordinating design related changes, issues, or concerns with the necessary internal teams and external consultants
Performs research and development work related to design, development, construction methodology, cost, suppliers, quality and process
Anticipates and recognizes bottlenecks in work processes between teams and makes suggestions for ongoing improvement.
Leads implementation teams and ensures the successful execution of new ideas or approaches.
Integrates timelines and milestones across areas of work, identifying areas of synergy or dependency.
Determines gaps in resourcing for projects and recommends strategies to mitigate.
Evaluates the progress of projects and makes adjustments to keep the project on track.
Facilitates collaboration with different teams and stakeholder to develop effective solutions on issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The project engineer at the direction of project manager and superintendent will be responsible for delivering a quality project on time and within budget and standard of quality. These goals will be accomplished by implementing a realistic project schedule directing foremen and other field personnel at the job site, coordinating subcontractors, and delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment
Provides supervisory functions over construction workers, contractors, and other on-site personnel
Reviews layout and housing design for construction implementation
Monitors actual contractor manpower, delivery of materials and its proper material usage and storage
Provides an oversight and leading function on construction of special projects within the site
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management
With at least six (6) years of experience in project management of a residential housing construction or mass housing is an advantage
Familiar in construction methods and terminologies, preferably in the areas of land development and mass housing activities
With knowledge of QC inspection and different materials testing and procedures
With strong written/verbal communications skills
Ability to effectively communicate and organize, prioritize work plans, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
Highly organized and detail-oriented
With good moral and positive attitude
Must be willing to work in Metro Manila, specifically Makati and Cavite or as assigned
Must be able to utilize computer programs and have the ability to draft letters, emails, and project documents
