KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review bids and proposals with project team for scope, pricing, allowances and contract terms.
Analyze scope of work for each project, set up portfolio baseline budget and estimate at completion.
Review and commit invoices based on project timeline, contract terms and documentation backup.
Control change management workflow, review internal request and vendor proposed changes with project team, complete change management documentation and signatory, help inform change order negotiation with vendors, maintain change logs
Issue and close purchase orders.
Perform tasks required to develop and maintain budgets for a project.
This includes reorganizing budgets resulting from a change in means and methods, as well as updating budgets for additional work activities.
Input and monitor costs and progress.
This includes coding and/or reviewing the coding of timesheets, invoices, etc. for accuracy as well as insuring that adequate tracking of quantities and production is done on a weekly basis. The results of the analysis should be analyzed and clearly communicated to the other members of the project team.
Build up weekly cost reports for each project to track committed to date, trends, estimate at completion and contingency
Maintain and update "Work in Progress" progress tracker for each project monthly, track monthly invoicing progress and earned value.
Provide cost updates for Capital Planning monthly and quarterly updates for management review.
Provide documentation for management requested changes, funding transfer and additional funding request.
Provide monthly accrual updates for all the active POs of all the life cycle projects monthly
Coordinate with all the life cycle group project managers to provide
In-Service Date updates monthlyKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance or related discipline desired, but not required with applicable experience. Min 5 years' experience in Accounting or Cost Control. Min 2
Year experience on Construction Cost Control. Experience in preparing project reports and documentation. Experience with change control and cost management.
Exposure to establishing project control systems and procedures. Economic Value Management (EVM) analysis experience. Knowledge and understanding of schedule preparation, schedule integration, and schedule critical path analysis.
Knowledge of cost management systems and practices. Experience in scope/change management. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to GC's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Experience with pricing and costing all CSI divisions
Team player with excellent diplomatic and communication skills can handle and resolve conflicts effectively in a firm but fair manner. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, blueprints, specifications, engineering reports, safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to face challenging situations, view from various angles, assess the strength of options, select and implement the best solutions.
Strong analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills; detail-oriented Outstanding written, verbal, public speaking, and presentation skills. Electronic document management will be an everyday responsibility. Flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem-solving.
Able to work independently and in a collaborative remote team-oriented environment
Experience using Heavy Construction Software Packages (HCSS & Agtek, Heavy Bid, Bid 2 Win)Always extend a professional stature and image. Desired:
Public accounting experience with a national firm
Experience in construction and/or engineering industry
Experience in working with international affiliate (parent or sub) a plus
Project Management, schedule or cost management training or certification through Project Management Institute (PMI) or American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) or other relevant industry organization.
EVP certificate
Background knowledge of the civil engineering and construction industry desired.
