THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International Philippines is implementing a project that aims to increase the realization of rights of children and young people to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR) by working with selected communities in North and West Samar to prevent teenage pregnancies due to the deleterious effects on health, nutrition, education, development and future productivity of these children and young people.
The role of the Project Coordinator is to successfully lead the project team and project partner/s in the orientation, implementation, and monitoring of the project in all communities covered.
Further, as the Project Coordinator:
You will have the opportunity to supervise the community diagnosis with community leaders/members to identify strengths & weaknesses participated by children particularly girls, children with disabilities and LGBTQI, adolescents, youth, men, and women.
You will oversee the counseling of duty bearers, parents, pregnant and lactating women, adolescent mothers, youth, husbands on key messages related to sexual and reproductive health.
You will be responsible for ensuring the project is fully compliant with all donor rules, regulations, and other requirements.
You will represent Plan International in all coordination meetings and other relevant mandated bodies and networks relevant to the project
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in this role you will need among other things:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Human Ecology, Education, or Community development. Relevant educational background related to Social Welfare, Population, and Development.
Relevant training on Community Development; Program/ Project Management; Participatory Rapid/ Rural Appraisal; and/or Safety and Security, Risk Management.
Minimum of one-year experience in managing projects, preferably in an international NGO setting.
Supervisory experience is a must.
Relevant knowledge, work, or volunteer experience in activities and/or projects related to adolescent and maternal health in relation to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights is an advantage.
This role is based in Catbalogan City, Samar. Local applicants are preferred.

Type of Role: Project-based contract.
Reports to: Senior Program Area Manager
