ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of quality programming and provision of technical support in the implementation of the Routine Immunization for Children: A Lifeline Interrupted by COVID-19 project in the four Local government Units in Samar namely: Villareal, Pinabacdao, Calbiga and Hinabangan and key stakeholders. He/ she will engage in regular coordination and consultation with Health and Nutrition Advisor, DRG and Humanitarian Unit based at Quezon City Office and Project Coordinators in various project in Visayas program office; provide technical inputs during planning, implementation, and completion of the project; monitor the implementation and progress of project activities; and ensure timely completion of deliverables based on Save the Children's tools and standards. Report directly to the Head of Office Tacloban and supervise community development officer of the project.
This is a 12-month implementation aimed; (1) Increased immunization coverage of children under 0-12 months old for preventable diseases such as polio, tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, haemophilus influenza, hepatitis B, measles, rotavirus and pneumonia in the selected areas in Region 8 and in BARMM. (2) Increased capacity of health systems, from Rural Health Units down to the Barangay Health and Community level, to protect and expand routine vaccination while preparing to respond to future outbreaks/epidemics/pandemics (3) Increased capacity on the part of local NGOs/CSOs to fill gaps and stand alongside health authorities in support of vaccine delivery (4) Increased capacity on the part of local NGOs/CSOs to forge relationships and develop financial resources to sustain future operations; (5) Increased vaccine confidence and demand on the part of caretakers and those eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations.
The implementation will be guided by the Department of Health National Immunization Program (NIP), Republic Act 11148 (Kalususgan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act) - Nurturing Care Framework and the lessons learnt and replicable good practices of SCP's MNCHN Program, Child Sensitive Social Protection and Child participation and governance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
A graduate of Bachelor's degree in the field (Nursing, Sociology, management or social sciences
Experience on Immunization program or related Health and Nutrition programs including monitoring and evaluation
Experience in conducting research study and assessments
At least three years of work experience in program administration or other related fields; work experience in the development setting (NGO) is a plus
Demonstrated competencies in community mobilization, coordination and partnership preferably in assigned project area with experience on Child Rights-based and Health and Nutrition project/ program implementation
Proven capacity on time and resource management, leadership and teamwork
Demonstrable ability in report writing
Excellent oral and communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their significant caregivers
Understanding of Save the Children's urban programming on child health and nutrition
Familiarity with Save the Children's administrative and logistical management system

Qualified nurse with primary health care/ community health care experience
