Roles and Responsibilities
Major Area: Create Projects and Project Financials in the Project System
• Create Project and assign Project Manager
• Create Project Cost Card
• Create Project Sell Rate Card
• Create Project Budget
• Assist Project Manager with understanding and managing Project Financials, including DBS allocation
Major Area: Ensure Timesheets completed for each Project
• Run Compliance report on Timesheets entered, ensuring completion and accuracy of time assigned to each Project
• Run Project Utilisation Reports for Management
• Explain time variances to Management
Major Area: Oversee and Report on Project Financials & Other metrics
• Manage the production of the weekly Program Profitability report, highlighting issues
• Manage, with assistance from the PM's, the monthly Project Forecasting process
• Prepare and provide to Management a Project Profitability report
• Investigate and explain Project Financials variance
• Establish & maintain other operational reports to support the COO, CFO and Delivery management
Major Area: Establish and Maintain Project Financial Policies and Procedures
• Document and maintain all Policies and Procedures in relation to Project Financials, including use of Clarizen
• Provide education to Project Managers on the Policies and Process for Change Variations, using Clarizen and Project Review Board
• Assist Project Managers with Change Request Variations and compliance with Operations Meeting approvals
• Ensure Approved Change Variations are reflected into updated Project Budget (Using appropriate change control log)
• Act as the Operations Committee Secretary to schedule and run the Project Review Board
Major Area: Manage and Approve Project Discounts per Policy
• Assist the Project Manager's to calculate discount requests
• Review the Discounts and determine approval authority
• Recommend action to the approving authority
• Document and provide to Billing approved Discounts
• Reconcile Project Financials in Clarizen to the Financial Accounting System
Major Area: Perform the Subject Matter Expert role for Clarizen
• Educate and develop an intimate knowledge of the Project Management System (Clarizen)
• Drive continuous improvement in the use of Clarizen
• Problem solve issues and recommend fixes to User issues
• Maintain menu configuration items, such as time categories & Roles, to ensure accurate and consistent use by the Project community
• Coordinate the establishment of DBS templates for use by Project Managers
• Load Standard Rate Card changes
Required Experience
• Minimum 5 years experience in either a Professional Services or Consulting Services organisation in a Project Accountant or System Administrator role
• Experience in using Clarizen
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or similar
• Completion of Professional Accounting Qualification (eg Chartered Accountant)
A Successful Candidate must have
• Project management background
• Strong Technical competence in Project Accounting, with demonstrated
Professional Development
• Strong Technical competence in Project Systems, with demonstrated professional development on how to configure and manage Project systems
• Experienced at Project Accounting, including Revenue recognition on a Time and Material basis, and Fixed Revenue basis
• Experienced at managing Project Management Systems
• Experienced at reporting Project Profitability, Utilisation, Project Expense Management and Revenue
• Strong experience in Microsoft Excel or Google sheets
• A keen eye for detail, with demonstrated numerical and communication skills
• Reliable and deadline orientated
