Job Description
The Profitability Accountant is responsible for the thorough, accurate and timely generation of Division Financial Statements. Provides financial insights of the division operations which may lead to profit optimization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision
1. Supervises and monitors performance of Cost and Inventory Analyst & GL/SL Analyst in order to ensure that Accounting is able to accomplish and meet its deliverables on time, accurately and thoroughly including performance appraisal.
Financial Reporting
2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial information required for the generation of Division Financial Statements.
3. Generate thorough, accurate and timely Division Financial Statements and reviews supporting schedules.
4. Provides thorough, accurate and timely responses to corrections, adjustments and outstanding items in the Division Financial Statements, if any.
5. Preparation of the analysis and presentation materials to support the Division Financial Statements submitted to management with highlights on rolling forecast versus actual and items with strategic impact to the company performance.
6. Review Balance Sheets schedule and account analysis for expenses to ensure that they tally with the general ledger, proper and timely disposition of adjustments/reconciling items.
7. Monitoring of Actual performance versus project study. Identification of areas of improvement to meet the study.
8. Identification and implementation of process improvements/controls to optimize profit and increase operational efficiency of the Division.
Internal and External Audit
9. Reviews and ensures that all audit schedules are reconciled with the books and submitted on time.
Other Duties
9. Reviews and updates the policies and procedures on a timely and regular basis.
10. Provides the Division Accountant, Accounting Manager/Site Controller and VP Controller with information for profit optimization and increase operational efficiencies.
11. Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
BS Degree in Accounting
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Preferably with 1 year experience in supervisory capacity
CRITICAL SKILLS OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Proficient in Oracle/SAP System application
2. Working knowledge of Accounting principles and accounting cycles
3. Knowledge of Audit principles
4. Oral and written communication skills
5. Interpersonal relations skills
6. Knowledge on costing and inventory monitoring
7. Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
