At Texas Instruments (TI) a Production Test Engineer ensures manufactured components and assembled products meet company standards and objectives. You'll develop and implement testing and evaluation methods and create test plans based on production specifications and requirements. You'll use your talent to perform testing and compiling and analyzing data for review and identification of manufacturing and production issues.
Primary Function (Data Solutions and Services):
Test DSS (Data Solutions and Services) exists to develop Software Tools and provide the needed data to drive improvements on Operational Efficiency (Metrics, Productivity, Quality, Process Simplification and NVA Elimination).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops web-based, tester controller-based or e-Mail based applications to automate data extraction and tracking, automate manual processes, prevent quality issues, reduce cost and prevent human error.
Orients or conducts trainings to stakeholders on the developed applications.
Supports enhancement requests on the developed applications.
Performs database management and maintenance of system security and database accounts.
Extracts data and provides analyses to identify opportunities for improvements or to understand details of reported issues.
Performs maintenance of storages, filer space, databases and user privileges to production controllers or application servers
Performs maintenance of log files used by the developed applications.
Performs migration of applications to new databases.
Manages developed software tool releases and ensures that releases are production worthy.
Documents details about the Software Tool which covers, but not limited to, description of the software tool, impact to production, system architecture, data flow, database location, access and schema.
Manages contract programmers, when applicable, to ensure completion and support of the projects.
Interfaces, as the central resource, with the Process, Product, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Information Technology or Planning in the qualification and deployment of the Software Tool.
Complies to and practices 5S methodology.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or a related field of study
Atleast 5 years' work related experience
Experience with USP and Testware
ATE expertise
Tester card hardware and circuit design experience
Software development experience
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with ATE plaforms
Knowledge of Mbayse analysis for both TP and MP
Knowledge of EDGE probe release system and probe build documentation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
