Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production and warehouse operations of our roofing company. This role ensures that production schedules are met, stock levels are monitored and replenished, and that designs and specifications are correctly followed. The Production Supervisor will manage staff, enforce operational best practices, and strive to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
 
Key Responsibilities and Expected Outputs:
 
Production Scheduling
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders and demand forecasts. 
Ensure production timelines are met without compromising on quality.
Communicate production targets clearly to staff.
Expected Output:
Achieve 95% on-time completion of production schedules.
Submit production schedules weekly.
Design Accuracy
Key Responsibilities:
Confirm that roofing designs and specifications are accurate and feasible before production.
Ensure production aligns with customer-approved designs.
Expected Output: 
Achieve 100% design accuracy before production.
Reduce design-related errors by 10% annually.
Stock Monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor stock levels of raw materials (e.g., metal sheets, fasteners, paints) and finished products.
Coordinate with procurement to replenish materials on time.
Conduct regular inventory checks to prevent stockouts.
Expected Output: 
Maintain a minimum stock level for all critical materials.
Conduct monthly inventory audits.
Staff Management
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise production and warehouse staff, providing clear guidance and training.
Monitor staff performance and address any issues promptly.
Foster a positive and safe work environment.
Expected Output: 
Conduct quarterly staff performance reviews.
Maintain a staff productivity rate of 90% or higher.
Efficiency and Practices
Key Responsibilities:
Implement proper warehouse and operational practices to improve efficiency.
Optimize workflows to minimize material waste and reduce production cycle time.
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
Expected Output: 
Reduce production cycle times by 15% annually.
Maintain 100% compliance with safety protocols.
Quality Control
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect roofing products during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards.
Address and rectify any quality issues promptly.
Expected Output: 
Maintain a defect-free production rate of 98%.
Address quality issues within 24 hours.
Reporting and Analysis
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present production reports, including metrics such as efficiency, quality, and stock levels.
Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Expected Output: 
Submit weekly production reports.
Implement at least 2 operational improvements annually.
Coordination
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales, design, and procurement teams to align production with business goals.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely shipping and delivery of products.
Expected Output: 
Hold weekly coordination meetings.
Ensure 100% alignment between production and customer orders.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in the roofing or construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of roofing production processes, materials, and equipment.
Proficiency in production scheduling and inventory management software.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
