Procurement engineers are responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials, equipment, and services that their company needs to operate. They work with vendors to negotiate deals on everything from raw materials to finished products, ensuring that they get the best possible price while meeting all their company's requirements.Hereunder are the duties and responsibilities of a Procurement Engineer.
Oversee the purchase of technical equipment for industrial operations.
With 3 to 5 years of experience.
Has relative experience in subcontracting and has a harmonious relationship with the local Philippine market.
Is a person who is a Dynamic and Efficient learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with designers to determine the equipment needed to complete manufacturing or construction projects according to specifications, research vendors for those materials and equipment, and then order it.
Negotiate purchase agreements with vendors and award contracts to vendors for materials and equipment.
Monitor any adjustments to the equipment needed to maintain an optimum supply of materials and equipment to complete projects on time and within budget.
Ensures proper alignment of the inbound supply chain for products and raw materials across our business units.
Develop, lead, and implement business cost reduction strategies through Sourcing to improve our cost position without sacrificing quality.
Evaluate, coordinate, and support sourcing opportunities in the area and low-cost regions.
Support product development and improvement teams by sourcing new technologies from qualified suppliers while leading the qualification process.
Challenge existing suppliers to recommend more cost-effective and/or more reliable products that will improve our competitive position. Assist in the evaluation and coordination of these recommendations.
Lead vendor initial qualification through the Company Process, ensuring vendor products meet legislative, customer, and Company requirements.
Once qualified, drive supplier actions to verify part and process quality at the supplier's location to reduce the need for incoming inspection.
Work with Sourcing, Engineering, and Quality to develop procedures and processes to qualify potential suppliers.
Reports directly to Senior Procurement Engineer.
