Summary
Under the direction of the Process Supervisor, the Shift Team Leader Ensure achieving performance and production goals utilizing plant equipment in a safe, sanitary, quality, and efficient manner. Oversee all team members and ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively during each shift
Duties and Responsibilities:
supervise employees, directing all activities of the entire refining process of cane sugar, ensuring quality standards are met; the efficient use of energy (gas and steam), water, air and electric power. Promotes the safe operation of all processing equipment and actively participates in the facility safety program.
Create shift schedules for team members
Ensure achieving performance and production goals.
Assess individual team member abilities and aptitudes, incorporate into shift duties to promote happy employees and effective workflows
Oversee all team members and ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively during each shift
Manage time off requests and unexpected no-show situations
Facilitate disciplinary action when necessary (tardiness, etc.)
Maintain a work environment that encourages compliance with safety laws and employment guidelines
Set performance goals for individual team members, create reward systems and/or contests as needed
Ensure production goals are met
Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues in need of resolution
Operation daily report.
Requirements
Diploma in related field
Minimum of 5 to 8 yrs years of experience in sugar industry. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is required
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong leadership skills, extensive experience in managing a team
Creative problem-solving skills
