This will be a new product, based on the acquisition of a client solution. This is a unique opportunity for a Principal Engineer / Application Architect to drive the technical transformation of a product, turning the solution into a marketable SaaS product, and taking the new offering to market. Work along with solution / integration architect and Tech leads to provide high level technical solution for features . Conduct Technical analysis, solution design, and document technical artefacts . Perform code and design reviews, Act as a resource for software developers on policies, procedures, architecture and design concepts and technical issues . Provide technical problem solving / technical analysis skills to the team though coaching and mentoring activities . Improves architecture by tracking emerging technologies and evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements. Determines application / platform architecture, technology, and tools. . May participate in/lead emerging digital transformation technology projects . May participate in/lead application design activities creating multi-platform applications that span mobile, tablet, desktop and connected devices . Maintain and enhance existing software to address strategic business development needs to improve the software Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 10+ years of hands-on coding, Proficient in architecting / designing of Java based multi-tier, secure business applications for high availability, scalability and performance . Hands on technical knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Docker/OpenShift, SOAP-XML/REST-JSON and front-end technologies like Angular / React . Experience on NoSQL databases like MongoDB / Cassandra and relational databases such as Oracle / MySQL . Implemented applications using architectures including Micro services, SOA and more. . Good understanding of Cloud Technologies (IaaS/PaaS), Serverless, DevOps CI/CD, DevSecOps . Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK) . Work experience in Agile, Iterative and Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). . You have strong verbal & written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to work with our business and technical partners as well as internal team members. . Passionate about technology as well as developing and coaching to bring out the best in people. You have led diverse, high performing teams. . You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making. . Knowledge or experience with Financial Services/Financial planning software is a plus.
