This position assists in the management of prime contracts in conjunction with the Project Director and Law Department. This position is fully integrated with the project core team. Undertake Prime Contract management execution activities in accordance with the Prime Contract with a view to preventing leakage and being reimbursed for valid changes.
Main Responsibilities:
. Provide support to business and execution units in the formation of prime contracts, including participating in the proposal, prime contract review, joint venture and/or subcontract partnering, and risk assessment process
. Facilitate smooth transition from Award to Execution with the support of the Project team throughout life of a risk project
. Coordinate with the Legal Department and Insurance and Risk Management Group to obtain and provide information regarding commercial issues coordinate with Project Controls and Project Business Services on commercial issues
. Review project correspondence to ensure Fluor's rights are protected and that it is consistent with the terms of the prime contract
. Assist in developing the Contract Summary and updating throughout the project
. Participate in functional management team reviews
. Track Prime Contract Notice Requirements, give timely notice, and initiate actions required to follow-up when required
. Participate in Business Risk Management Framework (BRMF) reviews and functional management team reviews
. Read, understand, and administer the legal nuances and terms of the prime contract
. Work with Legal, senior management, and the Client for all contract modifications to the Prime
. Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options and recommend/implement appropriate course of action
. Follow the Disputes process as defined by the Prime to track and administer throughout the project, while working with Legal
. Provide claim support and resources to project teams to prepare and negotiate claims as required
. Report performance data to the functional management for use in maintaining contracts metrics
. Interface with senior level clients, joint venture, and industry organization professionals while carrying out Company's contracts activities
. Provide input to the Project Completion Report on Prime Contract Management
. Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
. Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
. Accredited degree (or global equivalent) in business, law, engineering, construction management or cost engineering or equivalent experience
. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and management of contracts and subcontracts
. Understanding and experience with multinational business environments
. Experience in pricing, contracts law, contract administration and negotiation of change orders, risk identification and mitigation, effective correspondence, planning, and scheduling
. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities suitable for working effectively in a matrix organization and leading a workforce comprised of many nationalities and backgrounds
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Excellent interpersonal skills
