The opportunity The APAC Strategic Deals Team is looking for the combined skills of a pricing architect who can also provide Commercial Management Organization (CMO) Finance services. In this role, you would lead the development of robust financial analysis for strategic deals (including managed services) and would then have an opportunity to define and implement best-in-class financial reporting, controls and other processes directly on Strategic Deals / Managed Services engagements. You will report to the Strategic Deals APAC Transition, PMO and CMO lead for Strategic Deals / Managed Services and will work closely with other significant global stakeholders and global delivery and enablement teams. Your Key Responsibilities (Pricing) Support upfront qualification of complex pursuits - with particular focus on testing both parties' value proposition and designing the charging approach for the pursuit. Lead/support the design of competitive pricing proposition for specific client pursuits, achieve an appropriate EY commercial return, and manage key risks - working closely with the pursuit leader, solution architect, deal shaper, legal, commercial, negotiations, risk and independence. The pricing design will include costing the solution components, development of the Client Business Case, the EY Business Case, a pricing response, contractual pricing documents, addressing client concerns/requirements and mitigating EY risks. Using EY's costing and pricing tools and best practices, you will present the pursuit's client and EY business cases for internal approvals. Support the transfer of the pricing knowledge to the delivery team, to ensure the ongoing management of the commercial aspects of contracts. Capture knowledge into EY artefacts that can be used to support future pursuits and ensure it is embedded in EY's overall approach- eg updated costing and pricing policies, models. Develop and run training programs on lessons learned. Develop people through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring. Support the recruitment and development of pricing talent. Your (potential as defined per project) Key Responsibilities (CMO) The below processes may be implemented and run by you, implemented and handed over or be an audit of existing processes with the potential for rectification and training for correct ongoing delivery. Define and implement financial processes and controls across EY Member Firms, alliances, third parties and clients. Participate in appropriate deal governance forums. Implement financial forecasting, track actual performance against forecast and conduct root cause analysis to isolate the drivers of any variance to forecast. Collaborate with project delivery leaders to implement financial recovery plans, as needed. Interface with clients to implement contractual invoicing & payment terms. Design and implement new charging constructs, where applicable. Manage invoice preparation, submission and collection across EY Member Firms, alliances and third parties. Determine revenue allocation mechanisms for the EY Member firms. Define & produce fit-for-purpose EY and or client reporting packs & monthly cadences to support internal and deal governance. Standardize and automate financial control and reporting processes, where applicable. Leverage deep knowledge of client contracts to optimize EY profitability and drive growth opportunities for EY and clients. Consolidate & archive artefacts and learnings to enhance future Managed Services pursuits and deliverability. The job title does not define or limit your duties and you may be required to carry out other work within your abilities from time to time on request Skills and attributes for success Deep expertise and acumen in pricing, contract financial management and commercial operations, within the Professional Services and managed services domain. Proven track record of successful change management initiatives, process design, implementation and standardization. Basic tax understanding or experience of VAT / GST / TP / Withholding taxes during cross border client and inter-company transactions would be advantageous. Ability to compare costs to budget and original deal economics, analyse, investigate and report on variances. Fluency in broad range of commercial arrangements. Proactive collaboration across various client and internal stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, with capability to work independently, remotely and deal effectively with ambiguity and change in unstructured environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills for client C-Suite and EY senior stakeholders Strong business partnering skills enabling working across teams and experience in working with global (offshore) delivery centers. Ability to produce work of consistently high-quality under pressure (time & outcomes) Ability/credibility to influence key EY and client stakeholders - personal style, experience and approach. A high level of drive, ability to work independently and an attitude of "Nothing is beneath me". Experience in inventory, client invoicing, revenue days control, internal expenses evaluation. Demonstrated ability to identify and flex various commercial levers in order to return projects to profitability. Experience gained on intergroup / inter division contracting and finance is very useful. Experience in different annual cost of living adjustment mechanisms and alleviating forex risk would be advantageous. Work with delivery, pricers and PMO to understand changes to scope and provide the financial inputs to change notes. Contingency management and release experience. Comparison of contracted billing, actual billing and service delivery To qualify for the role, you must have 4+ years of working in a complex professional services environment and 4+ years in a pricing or commercial finance role. Basic tax understanding or experience of VAT / GST / TP / Withholding taxes during cross border client and inter-company transactions Collaboration skills working effectively with groups across the worlds and all levels in EY. Initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and an "I will do" attitude. High level of flexibility, drive and ability to work under pressure. Bachelor's degree in relevant field required- Business, Finance or Accounting Ideally, you'll also have CPA, CFA and / or MBA qualifications preferred.
