PORT CAPTAIN
 
Responsible to the VP Cargo Operations and Ship Fleet Manager for the safe and economical cargo operation and Marine-Engineering Division. He will coordinate with Crewing Manager, Ship Superintendent, Quality/Safety Manager and Quality/Safety Officer. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
The effective and safe operation of the pier, it's condition and ease of use by the vessel in transit. 
Coordinates with Cebu Port Authority / Operations regarding berthing/anchorage assignments and departure clearance of the vessels. 
Evaluation of seafarer's personal documents and certificates to ensure compliance  with the national requirements and maintain file of the same. 
Review/monitors  ship's statutory certificates , memorandum circulars and document regulations to ensure that it is valid and updated at all times. 
Investigations of the ship's reports on Accident and Hazardous Occurences. Maintains file of Marine Protest submitted by the vessels. 
Act as Company Security Officer. Enforce discipline and security on-board and port premises/facilities. 
In-charge of Marine Pollution caused by spilage or hazardous cargo in the Emergency Response Team. 
Prepares report and submit necessary documents and clearances to the authorities. Perform other functions such as :
Distribute Notice to Mariners to the vessels;
Review and sign Deck Abstract  - Log Book;
To review Passage Plan and Stability GM before departure of the vessel. 
Requirements: 
Preferably BS Marine Transportation with licensed as Master. 
Minimum of 5 years experience in related profession and/or on-board inter-island or ocean going vessel. 
Preferably with good command / leadership and good moral character. 
Undergone ISM Awareness Seminar with valid Certificate. 
Conversant in English and/or Cebuano or Tagalog.
