Job Description
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team and assist our pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications to customers or health practitioners. You will be responsible for entering prescriptions in PrimeRx, doing automatic refills for patients, calling doctors for prior approvals and other tasks as assigned by the pharmacist.
Responsibilities
Receive prescriptions and check their validity
Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
Label and package medications and prepare them for delivery or pickup
Enter prescriptions in PrimeRx and perform automatic refills for patients
Call doctors for prior approvals and handle insurance claims
Maintain inventory of medications and supplies and order new stock as needed
Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures and comply with federal and state regulations
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician certification or license (preferred)
Experience With PrimeRx Or Similar Pharmacy Software (preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology, dosage calculations and drug names
Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
Attention to detail, accuracy and safety
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Tool to be used is PrimeRx
