Position Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible to create & maintain ECAD components, design basic PCB layout, documentation and analysis of electronic circuit and board design.
Key Responsibilities:
Librarian role
Builds ECAD (Electronic Computer Aided Design) symbols and footprints from component datasheets.
Researches and defines component attributes including electrical and physical package requirements, RoHS classifications and other relevant component data.
Maintains the Schematic Symbol and PCB Footprint databases including necessary documentation.
Supports PCB design revisions through component verifications and generate required drawings and manufacturing release files.
Layout role
Designs basic multilayer PCB layout while meeting layout requirements, established design rules (including electronic circuit knowledge), methodology and quality (DFM) standards of the Hardware Development process using Cadence Allegro tools.
Collaborates with mechanical engineers to define and verify board outline, mounting holes, keep-out areas, and height constraints
Collaborates with electrical engineers to define project scheduling, parts placement, trace routing and power distribution requirements.
Generates schematic drawing, BOM, Gerber package, bare board documentation and assembly documentation for PCB manufacturing
Proposes and implements improvements to the existing CAD process and CAD library standards
Required Skills, Experience & Education:
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
Open for fresh graduate but prefers with 1 2 years relevant or related experience in PCB Design, Layout CAD tools, documentation, and development.
Good problem solving and analytical skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Tools
Works with less supervision
Desired Skills and Work Experience:
Experience or have a working knowledge in schematic and PCB design tools like Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, Altium or any other tools is a plus
