The Packaging Development Manager is responsible in leading and managing packaging design, testing, and optimize product packaging within product range of Health and Infant Formula & Children Nutrition under RB Philippines.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Bachelor or Master degree in Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science or related scientific field
Min. 5 years of experience in similar FMCG sector and packaging materials
Good technical knowledge of flexible, paper, tin can, corrugated & board packaging materials and related
manufacturing process.
Good technical knowledge on printing technology
Good technical knowledge of injection and blow moulding process
Good knowledge of sustainability, food packaging, and GMP
Knowledge of relevant legislation, testing methods, local/international regulations and standards
Proven ability to managing staff in a team environment.
Proven track record to manage multiple multi-functional projects
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY
Establish development programs for packaging optimization of any material & structural design as well as packaging processes with full comprehensive impact on cost & production efficiency.
Ensure that all product designs and materials for local promo items comply with environmental, safety and shipping legislation and also with trade requirements.
Manage major local, regional and/or global projects (NRG/NRP/GMI) within deadlines and ensure the achievement of set KPIs.
Close collaboration with Procurement and QA teams to ensure the "Supplier Selection Process & Criteria" process is applied for selection/qualification of any new suppliers for packaging items.
Ensure the key master technical data correct and updated within all systems by managing and controlling BOM (Bill of Material) in linkage with R&D PDFS /MMBR (Master Manufacturing Batch Record)/MPBR (Master Packing Batch Record), SAP & Optiva integration of MS function.
Collaborate with QA team to ensure that latest quality techniques and test methods (i.e. storage tests/transport tests/etc.) are applied consistently and new methods are developed, if necessary
Collaborate with global teams such as Marketing, Category, R&D Ops, and Procurement for all Net Revenue Growth/Net Revenue Protection/Gross Margin Improvement projects.
Build effective working relationships with suppliers and perform regular quality audit of the suppliers along with QA and Procurement.
Lead and managing packaging changes for Gross Margin Improvement projects implementation.
Ensure proper follow through whole mold development and mold validation process.
Responsible for artwork approval process through Brand works system.
Responsible and accountable for any Change control and Deviation required.
Establish continuous development and training of all member of packaging department.
