Job Description
Perform a systematic initial head to toe assessment of the OPD patient's physical and psychosocial status, specific to all patient.
Assess the OPD patient/family educational needs and readiness to learn utilizing appropriate resources.
Collaborate with the OPD patient/family and other members of the health care team to develop and update a plan of care that is consistent with the medical diagnosis and based on the physical, psychosocial and related requirements
Establish realistic and measurable goals that are culturally sensitive, and identify nursing interventions to achieve the goals.
Provide head to toe patient assessment/reassessment, and a nursing care consistent with the plan and needs of the patients with respect for privacy, dignity and culture. Assist patient with insurance approvals.
Collect, analyze VS before consultation and report abnormal findings. Adequately assess and reassess patient pain using measurement tools appropriate for young and adult and in agreement with the GPH policy.
Accompany and stay with the patient in the consultation room, if required by physician. Perform a wide range of nursing procedures as directed by physician with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort, including those requiring strict a
Notify reported and laboratory proven infectious diseases to DHA. Demonstrate priority setting skills and timeliness in responding to patient needs
Carry out physician's orders and review nursing and medical orders for accuracy and appropriateness. Prepare, administer, and document the administration of oral, parental and topical medications as prescribed by the physician.
Responsible for the safe custody and administration of all drugs and medications. Knowledgeable of therapeutic effects, usual dosages, contraindications, side effects and adverse reactions for all drugs and parental fluids administered.
Intervene appropriately, efficiently and effectively in clinical emergency situations, initiates emergency resuscitative measures and assist with codes. Set up equipment for and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Assist with transfer of patients within the health care facilities, if admitted to the hospital. Teach patients and their families with emphasis on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen.
Support families in meeting the patient's psychosocial needs. Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment for the patient/family/visitors and staff.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Nursing or similar fields.
Female applicants are preferred for this role.
Professional experience: preferably 2 years of recent OPD and/or have experience in the OB Gyne Clinic in the Middle East and/or four years of nursing experience in own country. Fluent in English speaking, reading and writing
BLS provider to follow within 6 months from date of joining. A skill in Arabic is preferred, but not essential.
