As an OSHE & ER Executive, you will play a crucial role in providing unwavering support and assistance on Occupational Safety, Health & Environment, and Emergency Response to our esteemed Group and/or AOCs (Air Operator Certificate). You'll be the driving force behind overseeing the overall workplace safety across the entire group, spanning Ground, Cargo Operations, and OSHE applicable areas. Your main mission will be to establish, implement, and continuously enhance a highly effective OSHE program, Emergency Response Plan, and Safety Management System (SMS) in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), and IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
OSHE & Emergency Response Leadership: You will lead and inspire teams to ensure a culture of safety and preparedness throughout the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines for OSHE and Emergency Response, setting the gold standard for safety excellence.
Regulatory Compliance: Staying on top of ever-changing regulations and standards is crucial to our success. You will be the go-to person for interpreting and implementing applicable local and international safety regulations, ensuring absolute compliance at all times.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: You will conduct meticulous risk assessments across various operations, identifying potential hazards and developing proactive strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
Training and Development: Empowering our workforce with the knowledge and skills to uphold safety standards is paramount. You'll design and deliver comprehensive training programs, workshops, and drills to enhance safety awareness and emergency response capabilities.
Incident Investigation and Reporting: In the unfortunate event of incidents or accidents, you will lead thorough investigations to determine root causes and contribute to developing preventive measures. Accurate reporting and analysis will be critical to continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Communication: As a pivotal team member, you'll collaborate with multiple stakeholders, departments, and external agencies to ensure seamless coordination in safety-related matters. Your excellent communication skills will foster a culture of open dialogue and feedback.
Performance Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the OSHE program and Emergency Response Plan will be a top priority. You'll conduct internal audits and performance assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in OSHE and Emergency Response within the aviation industry or a similarly regulated sector.
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including ICAO, IOSA, and other industry-specific requirements.
Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent leadership qualities, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
