JOB SUMMARY
Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients and their relatives.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
1. Under supervision, responsible for delivering nursing care to patient within an assigned area, as:
1.1 Gives direct nursing care;
1.2 Identifies nursing needs of patients;
1.3 Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care;
1.4 Admits patients;
1.5 Performs such nursing activities needed by the patient.
1.6 Assists patients in moving, maintaining proper alignment of patient's body and utilizing good body
mechanics;
1.7 Takes and records vital signs;
1.8 Observes medical sepsis;
1.9 Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and records these in
her chart;
1.10 Observes and responds to patients' emotional and spiritual needs;
1.11 Acts as liason between patients/relative and hospital personnel;
1.12 Interprets to the patient and his family their roles in promoting successful therapy and
rehabilitation;
1.13 Prepares patients for, and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;
1.14 Carries out doctor's legal orders;
1.15 Assists physicians when examining patients;
1.16 Performs irrigations, catheterizations and gives enemas;
1.17 Administers and charts medications and patients' reactions to medications;
1.18 Sees to it that equipment receives proper care and maintenance;
1.19 Discharges patients;
1.20 Performs post-morterm care;
1.21 Teaches and directs non-professional nursing personnel;
1.22 Receives and endorses areas equipment and supplies;
1.23 Interprets hospital policies and procedures;
1.24 Gives health teachings to patients and families;
1.25 Maintains good relationships with other hospital personnel;
1.26 Charts accurately all medications, treatments, and procedures done to the patient.
1.27 Attends meetings and conferences
2.A Scrub Nurse
2.B Circulating Nurse
2.C Recovery Room Nurse
3. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, units in Masteral Degree an
advantage
Required License : Registered Nurse, IVT, BLS, ACLS
Training required
Related Experience: at least one (1) year of nursing experience
Knowledge / skills required : Professional competence in clinical practice and skill administration;
knowledge on all nursing policies and procedures, hospital policies and
procedures; computer literate, matured, can keep highly confidential
information, honest and trustworthy
