We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Process Engineer with Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering qualifications and excellence.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The Optics Process Engineer is responsible for day to day manufacturing process, quality performance by influencing technical processes, aspects of optical process engineering and its functions be implemented in the production line. He must provide leadership in process flow, data gathering, production reporting functions to accomplish continuous improvement in the department, to include but not limited to process innovation, process development, statistical process control that will achieve greater daily throughput in first pass yield, increased material efficiency, cost reduction, on time delivery target and reduced rejection while maintaining strong internal customer awareness to meet process and product specifications. He must provide time studies and production flow analysis and recommendation.
The Optics Process Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing and reporting of equipment condition for preventive and repair maintenance programs. Production responsibilities also include designing fixtures, engineering change notices, training and work instructions for production operators. Spearheads continuous improvement development of ideas and projects for improvement of efficiency and productivity of the group's manpower, machines and equipment. Ensures the department's conformance to 5S, company policies, rules and safety regulations. Ensures the capacity of manpower, materials, machine and equipment to meet customer requirements.
The incumbent also ensures that the manufacturing process will deliver products on time and to quality in line with the customer requirement. Prepares and revise work instructions, guidelines, forms, monitoring formats, process time, standard procedures and other documents related to production. Train, supervise and manage production line workers. Ensures the group's compliance to the quality controls and system established by the department.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical or Optics or Diploma of Equivalent with relevant experience in precision components or optics manufacturing.
Solid experience in a manufacturing environment or working experience in the related field
Experience or exposure in process/production or project engineering in an Optical Manufacturing Environment
Direct experience in Optics Grinding, Drilling, Milling, Rounding and Polishing Machines
Working knowledge of modern computer integrated manufacturing systems and statistical process control is advantageous
Knowledgeable in design and fabrication of simple tools, jigs and fixtures
