Job Description Responsibilities: The candidate will provide subject matter expertise and best practice advice to the Investment Operations team to support daily portfolio management process in cash management perspective. Responsibilities include: Knowledge of cash management, fund accounting, corporate actions, pricing and valuations in pension, mutual funds and institutional funds with understanding of downstream impact to portfolios valuations in both internal/external systems. Support daily cash management including start of day cash reconciliation, cash projection review and cash management including processing fee payments, fund transfers and FX transactions to support funding needs of the portfolio managers. Support daily processing of fund of fund and asset allocation rebalancing trades. Support post trade processing and resolving escalated trade settlement issues in a timely manner. Identify workflow, system improvements and work with the team on requirements needed for enhancement. Manage the relationship with fund managers, custodian banks, brokers, auditors, and internal/external counterparties to monitor the quality of services and ensure market standard practices are in place. Develop and maintain enhanced procedures and controls within investment operations to ensure consistent high-quality services and support to the front office, clients and other business units. Work with regional and country operations teams to promote best practices and standardization across the Asia region and globally where applicable. Collaborate with key stakeholders including regional and country investment operations teams, Portfolio Management, Project Management Office, Technology, Product, Portfolio Specialist and Risk and Compliance teams. Assist in providing training for Investment Operations staff to build expertise and enhance Investment Operations capabilities. Participate and/or lead Investment Operations projects, working closely with other offices and/or the Asia Project Management teams where applicable to ensure efficient and effective implementation. Collaborate with peers, other business units and functions both within Asia and globally. Undertake ad hoc assignments or special business projects as assigned. Support the implementation of enhancements to systems and processes including drafting business requirements, designing test plans and conducting User Acceptance Test when required. Knowledge / Skills / Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 5+ years' experience across investment operations; with at least 3+ years' direct experience working in a Middle Office/Cash Management Operations environment and on a supervisory/TL role. Experience and knowledge of Middle Office/Investment Operations' policies and procedures, including cash management, trade management, trade support, corporate actions, pricing and valuations and fund operations. Ensure team adherence to all compliance to business and regulatory requirements As regional function lead (i.e. Asia, North America) for MBPS, provide functional expertise and assume accountability for the efficiency and quality of service delivery of the team. High proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point). VBA knowledge is preferred. Business systems (Bloomberg, OMGEO CTM, Simcorp, Custodian portals) experience required. Recognize process gaps from various workflows and initiate improvements as well as control measures Ensure the effective cascade and communication of operational risk awareness and management practices. Strong communication skills. Ability to understand, negotiate and influence business stakeholders. Encourage and drive changes within a highly dynamic, fluid environment. Comfortable in challenging traditional processes to strive for efficiencies. Aid team manager on various administrative tasks such as coaching, incident management, KPI/KRI reporting, and task allocation Participate in succession planning and serve as primary backup for the team manager Ability to cross leverage skills among the teams around him/her and work collectively to achieve the best possible outcome. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues where the resolution is not readily apparent. Good team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple levels of the organization. Proactive / can-do approach and attitude.
