Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transport Operations:
Coordinate and schedule container and cargo movements to/from the branch via road transport.
Supervise truck arrivals, dispatches, and turnaround time to meet delivery deadlines.
Communicate with transport vendors, in-house drivers, and sales team to ensure timely movement.
Verify transport documentation and ensure system updates.
Resolve transport issues such as delays, vehicle availability, or cargo discrepancies.
2. Container Yard (CY) Operations:
Supervise container stacking, retrieval, and yard organization for optimal space usage.
Ensure accurate posting of container movements and location updates in the system.
Oversee container inspections for damage and condition reporting.
Coordinate with repair teams for damaged containers and maintain repair logs.
Conduct physical inventory checks and reconcile system vs actual stock.
3. Terminal Operations:
Support vessel operations (if applicable) including container discharge/loading.
Liaise with port authorities, terminal operators, and stevedores for vessel handling.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and secure cargo handling practices.
Manage and control daily terminal operations including vessel berthing, container handling, yard operations, gate activities, and cargo dispatch.
Ensure port productivity meet performance benchmarks.
4. Documentation and System Updates:
Ensure timely and accurate posting of container movement, container status, and cargo handling in the Terminal Operating System (TOS) or branch system.
Assist in preparing reports for transport logs, container inventory, yard status, and terminal performance.
Maintain proper documentation for audits, billing, and customer support.
5. Communication & Coordination:
Act as a key operational contact for transporters, port handler and internal departments.
Coordinate with central planning, customer service, and other branches for cargo flow alignment.
Respond to and resolve day-to-day operational issues at the branch level.
