As an Occupational Health Manager within NEOM Health & wellbeing, you will lead and oversee the occupational health programs and initiatives aimed at ensuring the well-being and safety of employees within the organization.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive occupational health policies and practices that comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
By promoting a healthy and safe work environment, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the health of our employees and minimizing workplace-related injuries and illnesses.
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
Policy Development: Develop and update occupational health policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
Occupational Health Programs: Design and implement comprehensive occupational health programs that address various aspects of employee well-being, including health screenings, vaccinations, wellness initiatives, and ergonomics.
Workplace Safety: Collaborate with safety officers and relevant stakeholders to identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Health Promotion: Promote employee health and wellness through awareness campaigns, health education programs, and initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
Employee Health Assessments: Coordinate and administer employee health assessments, pre-employment medical examinations, and periodic health checks to monitor employee health status.
Occupational Health Records: Maintain accurate and confidential records of occupational health assessments, incidents, and employee health data in compliance with privacy regulations.
Injury Management: Oversee the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, including timely reporting, tracking, and follow-up to ensure appropriate medical care and return-to-work plans.
Health Surveillance: Implement health surveillance programs to monitor employee exposure to hazardous substances or conditions and ensure appropriate preventive measures are in place.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant occupational health regulations and reporting requirements, and prepare and submit required reports as necessary.
Training and Education: Provide training and educational sessions for employees and managers on occupational health topics, including injury prevention, stress management, and mental health support
Support in the management and delivery of sector projects, as required,
Support in the preparation reports for leadership on the current and forecasted progress/completion of key assets and initiatives, with executive levels insights on key assets, requirements, and risks
Plan and lead assigned tasks and projects, and proactively monitor and mitigate risks
Provide periodic reports regarding project progress, challenges, risks, and mitigation plans
Actively take part of and contribute in workshops and activities related to health system design activities
Support on administrative tasks as required for contract management
Assist in developing scope of work documents to support new contract establishment or renewal of existing contracts
Support in monitoring and evaluation of contract delivery and project performance
Support in all external communications activities (incl. internal/external marketing of the sector, maintaining promotional materials, developing strategic communications, etc.)
Support in sector or division meetings, preparing meeting inputs (identifying discussion points, etc) and gathering input and feedback during and after meeting as it relates to strategy, planning, risks, etc.
Collate stakeholders feedback on issues, challenges and unmet requirements and develop action plans
Act as a role model for the sector in interaction with other sectors and departments
Background, Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in occupational health management, preferably in a healthcare or large organization setting.
Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health regulations, workplace safety practices, and health promotion strategies.
Strong leadership and management skills to oversee a team of occupational health professionals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with employees, management, and external stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in data analysis tools, health record systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with occupational health surveillance methods and techniques.
Knowledge of ergonomics principles and their application in the workplace.
Understanding of mental health support strategies in the workplace.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) certification is an advantage.
Master's in Occupational health, Healthcare system management, public health, business administration, medicine or related topics is beneficial
