HISTORY AND PROFILE
Mendero Medical Center has distilled 30 years of experience in hospital operation and administration with its roots in Pagadian City. Its founders, Dr. Samuel J. Mendero and Dr. Ma Lourdes Mendero, started Santo Nino clinic in 1990 as a 10-bed facility with a mini operating room to perform surgeries. Over time, the institution grew to become a 50 bed hospital.
In November 20, 1996, the founders inaugurated the brand new hospital named Pagadian City Medical Center. Through the years, the hospital was able to serve more and more patients in the community. The ICU, laboratory, radiology equipment, pharmacy services were constantly upgraded.
In order to address the growing need for better healthcare delivery, a new hospital building was constructed, making it the first and only private tertiary hospital in Pagadian by August 2009. A few years later, the Mendero family has taken its brand to Consolacion, Cebu. This aggressive strategy demonstrates a commitment to bringing quality affordable health care to the communities of its patients.
Today, Mendero Medical Center is a 155-bed level 2 tertiary hospital. It is envisioned to be a complete 250 bed level 3 tertiary hospital in the years to come. Its services include a laboratory, ICU/NICU, dialysis, doctors' clinics, Operating Rooms, Emergency Room, Delivery Room, X-ray, CT-scan, endoscopy unit and many more. It boasts of 120 accredited physicians, all of whom are experienced and recognized in their various fields. With the leadership of the Mendero family, MMC is expected to grow and become the premiere private healthcare facility in the north of Cebu.
