Energy Secure Philippines (ESP) Project
Job Summary:
The Multimedia Expert will assist the Communications Manager and work with a Communications and Outreach Specialist to develop and execute external and internal communications and outreach. He or she will follow USAID project branding and marking requirements and provide multimedia support for campaigns that help tell the story of the need for and impact of ESP activities and USAID support from the American people. He or she will lead the conceptualization, design and execution of innovative communication materials using multiple creative modalities e.g motion graphics and/or animated slides, most updated software as may be applicable. He or she will help implement outreach to target audiences. He or she will help maximize the capabilities of multimedia platforms to best communicate and conduct project outreach. He or she will help to highlight ESP successes. He or she will support healthy working relationships with ESP team, key stakeholders, including host government counterparts in the energy, environment, other relevant sectors, other government bodies, private sector, other stakeholders, and the donor community.
Essential Duties:
Collaborates with Communications Manager to create visual components that complement stories or written materials
Provides creative and artistic ideas to better elevate the quality, originality and artistry of communication materials produced by ESP Activity,
Creates interactive presentations, videos, exhibit booths that utilize most recent trends in communication strategies
Supports the use of video, motion graphics, audio, text, and other tools to develop digital content that informs and educates various audiences
Minimum Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in international development, communications, journalism, or media and 6 years of experience or Master's degree and 3 years of experience
Experience on USAID-funded projects, using communications as a tool to align project successes with foreign policy goals
Must present to RTI a portfolio of multimedia accomplishments to demonstrate his/her qualifications
Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal/relationship-building skills
Experience implementing communications strategies using leading social media platforms
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel and mastery of adobe photoshop, creative modalities, photography
Experience with Photoshop or other graphic design platforms is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure
Ability to multitask
Ability to work independently and within matrix project, program teams and difficult environment
Attention to detail and accuracy
Culturally sensitive and respectful

Physical and Mental Demands
Physical and mental demands of this role include those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined previously. Examples include remaining in a stationary position for long periods; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and traveling between offices; frequently conducting site visits (if applicable); ability to handle the stress associated with meeting frequent, multiple, and tight deadlines; ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require; and ability to have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
