Description
1. Supervises the implementation of all microbiological procedures, work instructions and guidelines. Responsible for documentation of standard operating procedures, test methods, and work instructions of the microbiology laboratory and supervises the implementation of documented procedures.
2. Directly supervises the section personnel, their assignments and immediate administrative control. Responsible for the implementation of laboratory quality assurance program; notifies laboratory management of deficiencies in the program and monitors corrective actions.
3. Reviews completed micro test results including the necessary disposition documentation for products/samples as prepared by the Special Micro Analyst and/ or Technical assistant prior to submission to the QA Manager.
4. Supervises the proper ordering and storage control of all equipment, culture media, apparatus and materials needed to conduct tests and inspection activities including verification and validations necessary for the test accuracy.
5. Manages and maintains suitable inventory control of Micro laboratory supplies and equipment.
6. Supervises Reviews and coordinates repair and calibration and maintenance schedule program needed for laboratory equipment with Engineering Department.
7. Supervises the laboratory-training program Recommends availment of necessary trainings or seminars related to microbiological testing and Good Laboratory Practices.
8. Reviews Micro laboratory equipment operation performance and the results of evaluation done on environmental factors affecting accuracy and sensitivity of micro testing.
9. Prepares initial draft of document related to details of procedure, work instructions and guidelines pertaining to Micro program and revisions necessary for any changes or upgrading done for approval of the QA Manager.
10. Supervises implementation of GMP, safety, sanitation and housekeeping programs in the Micro laboratory area the necessary regulations for section personnel.
11. Gives recommendations and suggestions for the improvement of the work activities, equipment and facilities in the area of her responsibility to the QA Manager.
12. Coordinates with the Chemistry Supervisors in issues where personnel resources are shared for the maintenance of an orderly and harmonious discharge of responsibilities.
13. Ensures that laboratory and storage are free from gluten.
14. Promotes prevention of work related injury and ill health as well as the provision of safe and healthy workplaces and environmental activities.
