As a Merchandising or Category Associate, will be responsible for assisting in the planning, selection, and management of products within specific categories to maximize sales and profitability. Your role is integral in maintaining a balanced product assortment that meets customer demand and aligns with the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management: Assist in the development and execution of category-specific merchandising strategies, including product selection, pricing, and promotion.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels within assigned categories to ensure adequate stock while minimizing overstock situations.
- Market Research: To make data-driven decisions, stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
- Product Selection: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to curate product assortments that align with customer needs and company objectives.
- Pricing Strategy: Participate in pricing analysis and adjustments to optimize margins and remain competitive in the market.
- Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data, track category performance, and identify opportunities for growth or improvement.
- Promotion Planning: Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns for specific categories.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and procurement, to ensure seamless category operations.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on category performance, inventory levels, and sales trends for management review.
- Customer Focus: Keep the customer in mind when making merchandising decisions, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or any business related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) and data analysis tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Retail or e-commerce experience is a plus.
