• BS degree in Medical Technology
• Registered Medical Technologist
• Preferably with work experience
• Microbiology training is an advantage
• Computer literate
• Has a good communication skill both written and oral
• Organized, keen to details, strong-willed and can work with minimum supervision
• Flexible, trainable, independent, can do multi-tasking job and responsible
FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Medical Technologist provides information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses.
Administrative Functions:
1. Assists the Senior Medical Technologist in the preparation of the monthly performance report, reagents and supplies consumption reports and other reports needed in the assigned section of the responsibility.
2. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with the company policy and accepted accounting practices.
3. Attends and participates in meetings and seminars.
4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, superiors and the general public.
5. Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
6. Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
7. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
8. A bides by the Hospital policy, rules and regulations and follow department's standard operating procedure.
9. Perform other functions as may be assigned by a superior and Management.
Technical Functions:
10. Performs different routine special examinations / procedures in the assigned section.
11. Responsible for the preventive maintenance and trouble shooting of machine and equipment on time of duty.
12. Assists the section head in doing the monthly census, charges and expenses for the month.
13. Responsible for the inventory and evaluation of good quality reagents.
14. Ensures reliability of laboratory procedures by running samples together with controls.
15. Monitors proper processing, handling, and storage of specimen.
16. Assists the section head in the evaluation of new machines, methods and procedures based on the actual demonstration of prospective companies.
17. Responsible for the performance of the responsibilities of the section head when the latter goes on leave or is absent on duty.
18. Supervises the maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory.
19. Assures the provision of proper and healthy working environment for the Laboratory Staff.
