Must be a Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
Must be a board passer.
Can work under pressure.
Willing to work in a shifting hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Laboratory Testing
1. Performs special hematological examinations such as hemostasis procedures, reticulocyte count, peripheral blood smear and reviews slides to verify the presence of abnormal cells.
2. Performs microscopic examinations and cell count of urine and other body fluids.
3. Performs a variety of bacteriological examinations such as Culture and Sensitivity of body fluids and tissue samples, KOH mount to determine the presence of fungi, bacteria and other microorganisms, reads and interprets slides for Gram stain and AFB stain.
4. Performs chemistry procedures and immunoassay procedures
5. Performs Histopathologic procedures such as routine biopsy, frozen section, Pap's smear, cytology, FNAB and cellblock.
6. Validates and releases laboratory test results accurately within the turnaround time.
7. Recognizes and reports abnormal test results and/or the need of additional testing.
8. Responsible in interpreting and communicating critical patient results to the Chief Medical Technologist, then to the requesting physician.
Laboratory Quality Control
1. Performs and monitors quality control in the assigned section in the laboratory.
2. Initially troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment.
3. Verifies correctness and accuracy of test results for reporting.
4. Reports equipment breakdown to Biomedical engineer and/or to the supplier's service engineer.
5. Strictly follow the laboratory safety guidelines.
6. Prepares and submits Monthly Quality Control reports.
7. Actively participate in implementation of process improvement.
Patient Relations
1. Politely and promptly receives patients in preparation for laboratory procedures.
2. Provides reassurance and provides health teaching to patients before the procedure.
3. Proactively responds to patient's needs to provide excellent healthcare.
4. Responds to in-person and telephone inquiries from patients, referring laboratories, clinic staff.
5. Other Related Tasks or Functions:
a. Maintains confidentiality of records
b. Participates in continuing education.
c. Follows good laboratory practices.
d. Prepares weekly and monthly inventory of supplies and stocks on hand for laboratory use
and
e. Orders supplies as needed.
f. May perform complex venipuncture procedures.
