JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for providing a quality laboratory services of the hospital
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES :
1. Performs different routine special examinations/procedures in the assigned section
2. Analyzes and interprets the results of complex scientific tests on blood and bodily fluids
3. Prepares laboratory reports / results and releases such to concerned patients / relatives
4. Responsible in the preventive maintenance and trouble shooting of machine and equipment on time of
duty
5. Monitors proper processing, handling and storage of specimen
6. Responsible in the efficient filing and keeping of results in the assigned section
7. Responsible in the inventory and evaluation of good quality reagents
8. Assists the section head in the evaluation of new machine, methods and procedures based on actual
demonstration of prospective companies
9. Assist the section head in doing the monthly census, charges, expenses and other required reports
10. Maintains and controls the cleanliness and orderliness of the department
11. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time
12. Perform test screening for Drug Test.
13. Keep records of results and inventory of stocks.
14. Submits and/or reports positive results for confirmatory testing.
15. Perform Biometrics for Drug Test patients.
16. Ensures that Drug test kits used are validated by DOH.
17. Keeps specimen in storage for One (1) week for negative result and Fifteen (15) days for positive
result.
18. Follows protocol for chain of custody.
GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology
Required License : Registered Medical Technologist; necessary trainings
Trainings in Medical Technology profession (i.e. PQCAL)
Related Experience : preferably with one (1) year of related experience
Knowledge / skills required : Professional competence in laboratory practice and skill in using and
demonstrating the use of medical laboratory equipment; has knowledge on
laboratory procedures and tests; has the ability to correlate results and
findings; computer literate, matured, can keep highly confidential information,
honest and trustworthy
