Position: Medical Chart Auditor
Location: Remote (Work from home)
Type of Work: Full time, permanent
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (UTC -5)
The role and responsibilities:
Review both medical chart and reports of the physician and nurse/health practitioner and ensure home health nurse/ healthcare practitioner has properly administers procedures, measures, medications, etc. according to physician's directives;
Responsible for evaluating the appropriateness of health care and health services provided to home health patients;
Ensures that the quality for such care and services meets or exceeds medically accepted standards;
Identify and report quality of care concerns appropriately;
Follow relevant regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures in reviewing clinical case review documentation and medical necessity criteria selection;
Collaborates with the nurses, physicians, home health patients to check what is needed and verify procedures done.
Requirements:
Must be a US-RN in any of the 50 states
Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in areas such as ER/Urgent Care, Orthopedic, Ambulatory Care, Home Health, or ICU preferred
Advanced computer skills including typing speed, email, internet research, downloading and uploading files, and working in multiple browser windows
Extremely comfortable using new technology and software
Team player
Strong critical thinking and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Tools Needed: You MUST have your own laptop/desktop, stable internet connection, noise cancellation headset, keyboard, mouse, and a backup internet connection.
