Description
MVP Asia Pacific Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Estimator for one of our clients who is the leading provider of maintenance, shutdowns and construction services and solutions. The client provides all market segments including oil & gas, mining, power generation (including renewable energy solutions), process industries and defence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the requirements of mechanical, structural, and piping works for specific projects.
• Provides technical support during all phases of the projects to meet the operational requirements and standards, and that work is undertaken within the scope.
• Coordination of bids, estimates, and tenders for the mid-west region, including assessment of scope of work and all documentation associated with tendering for works.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the following duties.
• Review tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions.
• Obtain competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services.
• Undertake accurate material take-offs and man hour calculations.
• Accurately calculate man-hours.
• Collate material take-offs and job costs into clear, well-structured spreadsheets.
• Partake in tender reviews with senior management.
• Assist in preparing professional tender submission documents such as Methodology.
• Statements, Project Schedules, and Management Plans in line with client and Company requirements.
• Travelling to site for estimates and project requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Civil or any relevant course.
• Minimum of five years previous estimating and quoting experience in heavy metals fabrication industry.
• Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and MS Project.
• Great time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship building skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
