About the role:
A permanent opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to support our busy Engineering Team. Callidus provide engineering design and optimization services for valves and process flow equipment within Oil/Gas and Mining sectors. The role will support the technical delivery of projects internally and directly to the clients.
JOB SUMMARY:
Establish technical documentation. Design valve components, assemblies and related equipment. Produce manufacturing drawings, sketches and assembly drawings. Ensure that engineering documents are carried out accordingly to company standards and clients' requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish technical documentation such as calculations, procedures, datasheets, technical proposals and engineering reports.
Produce manufacturing drawings, sketches and assembly drawings in accordance with Company drawing standards.
Manage drawings and other technical documents using PDM.
Design valve components, assemblies and related equipment according to relevant standards.
Calculations for sizing and selection of Pressure Safety Valves and Control Valves.
Valve and actuator design calculation in accordance with industry standards.
Provide technical support to workshop, shutdown teams and clients.
Create / review technical documents for specification and procurement of valves.
Data management of project and design documents.
Liaise with client, supplier and internal personnel.
Any other tasks deemed necessary by management to perform the role.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering / Preferably Board Passer
2 years experience on related field.
Must have experience in designing and detailing mechanical parts.
Must have background on data management applications. Experience with EPDM is an advantage.
Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of engineering reports and other technical related documents.
Sound understanding of pressure systems including piping, vessel, flanges, bolting.
Sound understanding of project documents including PID's, PDF, Equipment Datasheets and Specifications.
Knowledge on industry standard for design, sizing and selection of valves.
Good time management skills, high work ethics.
High level of English competency both written and verbal communication. Strong customer service skills.
Demonstration of organization and planning skills.
Competency in Microsoft and Engineering computer packages and relevant software applications.
Familiarity with common mechanical fabrication methods and limitations.
Must have experience in developing 3D models and detailed drawing using Solidworks, at least 2 years experience. Background on FEA is desired.
Thorough understanding of material properties to be able to assess material options in the design solution.
Ability to coordinate projects and work with various departments within the organization

Ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.

Promptly close out any actions assigned.
Complete assigned safety walk through.
Participate in fire drills.
