Job Purpose:
The Marine Life Operations Biologist and Diver serves the Marine Life Development and Operations business function by supporting the Marine Life Operations Assistant Manager in the daily operations of the Marine Life Operations Facility.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Marine Life Operations Facility land-based coral farm and natural range activities from the donor collection, fragging, production, and deliver of coral to the Grand Reveal and other exhibits of the Marine Life Institute.
Job Responsibilities:
Operating the field-based Marine Life Operations Facility coral farm, local grow out sites, monitoring efforts, facility maintenance, and supporting team members, interns, and researchers.
Perform the daily husbandry operations of the Marine Life Operations Facility, adhering to RSG standards and protocols.
Participate in detailed scientific procedures involved with tissue-level interactions of coral animals and algal plants, settlement of corals up through colony stages. husbandry of living cultures, and rescue and rehabilitation of marine fauna.
Perform basic water chemistry and aquaculture procedures involved with maintenance of live coral animals and colonies, cultures, and settlement of corals up to colony stages.
Implement day-to-day maintenance, repair and minor fabrications related to the aquaculture facility and live systems that includes but not limited to, indoor lab and nursery facilities, outdoor microcosm pools and raceways, fragmentation and grow-out areas, seawater supplies, and source cultures.
Maintain clean saltwater aquaria, outdoor aquaculture tanks, and raceways in a manner that ensures the maintenance, growth, and reproductive viability of the endemic and rare corals under our care.
Perform in field coral activities by boat to reef sites to identify/collect coral specimens, transports appropriate colonies to the nursery for fragmentation and grow-out, transport nursery-grown corals into pre-approved reef grow-out sites, and transporting final coral product to Grand Reveal and other habitat exhibits.
Participate in monitoring and maintenance trips, conduct experiments on farm and grow-out sites, and record coral farm and grow-out impacts.
Handle corals, the building structures for coral growth, research, or facilities support, diving, and mechanical repairs.
Support other members of the team to ensure the inclusion of other disciplines such as, Diving and Underwater Tourism related elements.
Support partnership with Sustainability and SEZ departments to ensure alignment with sensitive and high-profile environmental issues in the development and operation of Marine Life and Underwater Tourism related assets.
Support on-site teams in the construction and delivery of Coral Farming & Dive Operation Facility
Assist in pre-opening preparation plan of Red Sea Marine Life Institute working with on-site Marine Life Development and Delivery Teams in co-ordination of delivery.

Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Job Qualifications, experiences, skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Aquaculture or Marine Biology (Mandatory)
PADI Divemaster (preferred), PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent (Mandatory)
Commercial Aquarium or Research Facility Management
Conservation Project Management
Animal Husbandry, Zoo Licensing & Veterinary Practices
Commercial Diving Health & Safety
Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
Excellent communicator.
Has an aptitude and aspiration for outstanding customer service with a can-do attitude.
Flexible and open-minded approach to environment and tasks.
Ability to self-motivate and deliver to agreed deadlines.
Time management.
Highly detail oriented.
Demonstrate discretion and the utmost confidentiality at all times.
Ability to produce well-structured and written emails and other documents.
Has an interest in and an ability to build a solid understanding of marine science, research, conservation, and education
