Summary of Role
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for Oracle Databases supporting Oracle EBS (ERP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and other business application & database operations within Maxeon application landscape. Support extends to boundary systems such as WebLogic, OBIEE, OAM/OID, SOA, Hyperion Datamart, Discoverer, and Informatica. Responsibilities include DBA activities such as planning, designing, building, monitoring, and support while ensuring performance, integrity and security of these very large databases. This role will ensure the data remains consistent across the active-active database, with replication occurring across data centers, backups occurring, and all data remains available with provisions for data security and recovery control (ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency).
The ideal candidate must have excellent communications skills (to manage outage and maintenance bridges) as well as excellent writing skills. This is an IT leadership role within a team of Software Development Engineers (internal & external) in a Global environment. This includes all development and operational activities in support of software and web applications in a 24x7x365 environment. This position requires strong engineering, operations and quality disciplines while working in an agile environment. The best candidate is someone who excels in 'big picture' thinking while also being able to work in the details. They understand what is required to solve a problem in a variety of dimensions.
This role will also monitor database performance and manage parameters to provide fast database responses to meet all Service Level Agreements. Refining the logical design when needed so that it can be translated into a specific data model, while adjusting the physical design to meet system storage requirements. Also, install, upgrade and test new versions of the database management system. Data migration activities are also expected, so background and experience with large data migration activities are required.
This person will provide guidance, mentoring and support to other Engineers and team members to drive the team to continuous improvement in the database area. It is imperative to integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities with technology strategies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Setting the team's strategy and roadmap in DBA space, including prioritizing initiatives based on the impact to the broader Maxeon business
-Assists with technical leadership throughout the design process and assists in guidance with regards to disciplines, best practices, procedures, and techniques.
-Presents and defends architectural, design, and technical choices to internal and external audiences.
-Manage all DBA projects end to end.
-Managing consultants and individual contributors
-Conducts reviews and periodically audits work performed by the 3rd party DBA Support team.
-Work closely with Data Engineering & Analytics Manager to build and maintain Data lakes on Cloud platforms like AWS and support other analytic tools like Tableau, Qlikview, etc
-Act as the technical liaison between team members, vendors, and stakeholders to define and clarify project scope and roadmaps
-Need to be outcome oriented, partner and drive alignment with cross functional teams on enterprise-wide initiatives.
Related Experience and Educational Requirements
Minimum Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other data-related field
-12+ years' experience working as Oracle EBS Apps DBA
-5+ years' management experience
-Hands on experience in Oracle RAC, Oracle Data guard, Oracle Golden Gate, Linux and Unix server administration and scripting.
-Demonstrated broad knowledge of the entire Oracle platform stack
-Experience as an Oracle eBS (or Fusion Applications) Apps DBA, with tasks involving maintenance and management of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Grid Control / Enterprise Manager, Oracle Weblogic, SQL*navigator, TOAD, SQL*developer, CA Remedy configuration management.
-Knowledge of Oracle Applications Database Administration utilities, patching procedures and cloning techniques. Knowledge of standard operating environments Unix, Linux and Windows. Knowledge of business and operational systems. Knowledge of network and database technologies and protocols ODBC, SQLNet, JDBC, and TCPIP
-Experience & knowledge working with Oracle IAM suite.
-Experience with application of Oracle quarterly PSU/CPU patches, and experience with automated validation and load testing
Preferred Requirements
-Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server database.
-Previous experience with Amazon Web Services and architecting Oracle solutions on AWS.
-Strong knowledge of information security best practices
-Oracle Database administration Certification
-AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification
