Working schedule: 7AM-4PM (Philippines standard time)
100% Remote
The Financial/Management Accountant forms an integral part of the Finance team. Being responsible for varied general accounting duties, along with other tax, auditing and management reporting duties, this position supports the success of the wider business through timely execution of key accounting responsibilities. We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and well-demonstrated accounting skills.
The Finance Team supports functions across the whole business in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Role Accountabilities
Accounting
General accounting responsibilities for all countries (AU, NZ, CA)
Month end journals and tasks
Balance sheet reconciliations
Responsible for accruals and provisions
Reconciliation of lens supplier bills
Revenue/receipts reconciliations
Prepare monthly consolidated balance sheet
Fixed asset accounting
Lease accounting
Intercompany accounting
Tax
Prepare GST returns for all countries
Support with preparation of income tax returns for all countries and franchise entities
Audit
Support with audit fieldwork
First review of annual financial statements prepared by auditors
Management Reporting
Prepare weekly store wage reporting
Prepare monthly P&Ls by store
Prepare slides for monthly business review pack
Prepare first cut of sales budget/forecast
Prepare first cut of wages budget/forecast
Updating budget/forecast files as directed
Prepare monthly accounts for franchise stores
Prepare expense summaries by department, e.g. marketing, IT, etc
Requirements
Skills/Experience
5+ years in a broad accounting role
CPA/CA qualification
Experience within a high-growth environment where processes need to be developed and formalised
Experience with Australian accounting standards
Experience within the retail industry (desired but not essential)
Experience with NetSuite (desired but not essential)
