At the moment, we are offering work-from-home (WFH) arrangements until we are ready to move back to our office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Our Client
In this position, you will be assigned to our Australian-based client. They are a Xero Advisor Certified Practice that provides high-quality financial management services to small, medium, and large organizations, supporting them to operate, report and plan effectively.
Your Responsibilities
Team Management
The Accountant/Team Leader (TL) is responsible for implementing high-quality accounting practices and quality communication to meet deadlines and achieve high customer satisfaction.
The TL also ensures that the local team delivers accurate accounts free of material errors and/or omissions, and that finance processes are efficient, and controls are in place. Additionally, the TL must ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner, client accounts and draft reports are prepared by the due dates by all team members.
Other team management responsibilities include:
Providing leadership and supervision to the local team of bookkeepers and accountants to achieve high-quality, error-free client work
Reviewing accounts and drafting management reports
Liaise with Practice Manager on issues regarding team performance, scheduling, and productivity
Ensuring that team and client needs are met, sharing client knowledge, facilitating the resolution of issues, and proactively managing team performance
Coaching team members
Accounting
Review accounts, including processing journals, managing prepayments and accruals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, making adjustments and finalizing accounts for reporting
Review payroll, prepare termination calculations
Prepare Xero Workpapers
Prepare and publish Xero reports
Draft Spotlight reports
Prepare budget templates, populate with known data and comparatives
Prepare and provide final reconciliations for the audit
Provide financial information for acquittals, submit via funder portal where appropriate via AFG credentials
Prepare and/or review compliance related report, including IAS and BAS
Draft Statutory Accounts if required by the contract
Ensure compliance with taxation and other legislation, including FBT and PAYG reporting
Undertake projects as directed
Your Background
To qualify for this role, you must have:
Tertiary qualifications in an accounting discipline
CA/CPA credentials or working towards completion
3-5 years of experience as a team leader
The ability to manage people
The ability to troubleshoot inconsistencies and errors
High-level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with figures
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage competing priorities with peaks in demands
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
Time management skills
Knowledge and experience in any of these software programs: Xero, Xero Workpapers, Spotlight Reporting, Google Suite, Freshdesk, Jetpack, Receipt Bank, Slack
Immediate availability and can start immediately
Desirable Qualifications
Non-profit accounting experience
Proficiency in other accounting and reporting software
